The SWL management team has a wealth of experience with strong Police connections, working with the Home Office and the Police on several of our current assignments – these relationships have helped us develop, nurturing successful private-public partnerships across a spectrum of new business.
A very positive management ratio allows our management team spend face to face time with our customers and security staff deployed on location, communication is the key.
With a strong military background following a career in the Royal Air Force Mark was perfectly positioned to take a lead role for a well-known National Security Company at the end of his service. During this employment Mark became frustrated with the poor working conditions of their employees and the poor services and quality of service offered to their customers. This frustration quickly turned into action, shortly after in 2001 Mark set up SWL Security Services with a customer first approach to business focused on ensuring employees were supported and had first class working conditions. Mark is passionate about dealing with crime and supporting customers with new and innovative products, it is that passion that led Mark to develop a strong professional and diverse management team that can deal with any challenge offered. His efforts have been rewarded with awards in retail services, sustainable business growth and a business reputation second to none.
When Marks not getting his hands dirty working on the business he enjoys marksmanship, spending time with his family and a little DIY.
Business Development Manager
Bill has worked in the Security industry since 1999 predominantly throughout the south coast. In this time, his rounded experience has included working with both national and regional industry providers within key account customer management roles.
Bill believes in the creation and protection of both new and existing business accounts through a consultative approach in trust, care and attention – the necessary ingredients in building long term relationships.
During Beth’s time at the Bournemouth and Poole college, she was given the opportunity to learn first-hand experience within a business/office environment through SWL Security Services, after two weeks of work experience, Beth was offered a part time job in the admin department where she was completing data entry tasks and analysis where needed. Due to the growth of SWL Security Services, a couple of years later Beth was offered the Office Manager position, during her time at SWL she has had to adapt to different roles and responsibilities within the office as well as being responsible for organising all of the administrative activities that facilitate the smooth and efficient running of the office.
Having taken part and managed ACS (Approved Contractor Scheme) and ISO 9001 assessments she has a complete understanding of what we, as a company, are trying to achieve in the long term. She has learnt the importance of security and what the guys and girls on the shop floor achieve.
Payroll & Accounts Administrator
Following a long career as Administration Co-ordinator within Lloyds Banking Group, Vickie joined SWL Security Ltd in October 2014 as temporary maternity leave cover for the Office Manager and was offered the permanent role of Payroll & Accounts Administrator in April 2015.
Responsible for all aspects of invoicing, she ensures that clients are invoiced correctly, suppliers are paid and outstanding debt is reduced as well as completing the monthly payroll for the staff with SWL Security Ltd.
Regional Manager (East)
Bryan started work in the security industry 12 years ago as a uniformed security officer before quickly progressing in the role of store detective. At the age of 21 Bryan moved to the role of national operations manager looking after 200 security officers across the country providing security for constructions sites, retail stores and events. After gaining experience in the role of operations manager Bryan moved on and become the Head of security for Hamley’s toy store in London. After also spending some time working for WM Morrison’s supermarkets as part of their loss prevention team Bryan decided form BDS Security specializing in supplying plain clothed officers targeting shoplifting, pickpocketing and fraud.
After serving 6 years in the British Army James joined the Private Security industry in 2012 as a Customer Liaison Officer in a busy shopping centre. After a brief period, James moved to SWL Security to start as a Control Room Operator. Since joining SWL Security James has pushed through the ranks and is now the businesses Systems Manager taking charge of a busy and growing alarm receiving centre and the Vulture CCTV side of the business. James’ vast experience with remote security systems is continually developing and helping to provide a unique and bespoke security service to SWL Security’s clients.
Carl joined SWL Security in 2013 as a Loss Prevention Officer, and quickly progressed, firstly to Operations Supervisor for Dorset, and then Operations Manager for the entire business in January 2016. Carl believes in providing a tailored security service to each of our customers, supported by a team of Regional Managers, Operations and Training Supervisors to ensure our Security Officers are highly skilled, motivated and valued, and the service we provide is of a high standard.
Regional Manager (West)
During Ryan’s time in the NHS he took time out to complete his Door Supervisor training and became a Door Supervisor in the centre of Bournemouth. Ryan learnt first-hand how working in security could have an impact on many people’s lives. Once Ryan had the taste of the security industry he left the NHS and started to work for SWL Security as a loss prevention officer. A couple of months after starting with SWL Security, Ryan was promoted to Dorset Operations Supervisor. Then after a year, was offered the role of South West Regional Manager. During Ryan’s time working for SWL, he has had to adapt to many different roles on the shop floor and became the customers first port of call day or night. Ryan is responsible for the Operation in the South West of the UK for SWL Security and making sure the high levels of service are maintained as the company grows and the welfare of the shop floor team.

SWL Security is an Approved Contractor of the Security Industry Authority and has been for five years. We are consistently rated in the top 5% of all security providers in the country. Not all security companies belong to the SIA but we believe that the standards adopted by the SIA are good for the industry and our customers.
